Dalkeith Palace - A Passion For Music

An exhibition and tour exploring the musical past of Dalkeith Palace. Celebrate the pivotal role played by Dalkeith Palace in the thriving musical culture of the late 18th century. Discover the 3rd Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch who gave their children an inspired musical education and made their Scottish home a true salon of the Enlightenment, with leading composers, artists and musicians all regular visitors. Explore Dalkeith Palace’s musical past through artefacts originally intended for Dalkeith Palace, illustrated text panels and a soundtrack of music originally heard at the Palace over 200 years ago. Small group tours will be running at 11.30 and 14.30 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 18 June to 03 September. Tickets are now on sale at £9.50.
