All Hallows at Castle Loch - An autumn evening of woodland, folklore and the turning year

As autumn deepens and the evenings draw in, join Luonto Living for a lantern-lit exploration of Castle Loch and its surrounding landscape. All Hallows falls at a time of transition: between autumn and winter, light and darkness, growth and decay. Across generations, people have marked this turning point in the year through stories, customs and traditions that reflect our changing relationship with the natural world.

During this small-group outdoor experience, we’ll explore the woodland and lochside landscape, noticing the signs of seasonal change and discovering some of the ecological connections that shape this place. Along the way, we’ll weave together nature, landscape stories and traditions associated with All Hallows, exploring how people have understood this time of year and the world around them.

As dusk gives way to darkness, we’ll carry small lanterns and experience the landscape from a different perspective. There will be space to notice the details, share stories and enjoy the atmosphere of an autumn evening outdoors. This isn’t simply a walk from one place to another. It’s an invitation to slow down, look more closely and discover the connections between the living landscape, the changing seasons and the stories we inherit.
