From Solway Coast and Marine Project (SCAMP) comes an array of exciting events designed
to help you get closer to nature. Go wildlife tracking along the coast, learn how to propagate trees,
and watch stunning displays of biofluorescent organisms.
You can learn about marine biology, migratory bird routes and fish breeding grounds, or watch an otter love story unfold.
With a mix of hybrid and in-person experiences, there are opportunities to get involved right across Dumfries & Galloway.

Events start on 19th of February at the Millenium Centre in Stranraer with a presentation entitled Journeys, Wildlife, Invasive Species and Plastic Migrations - you can join in online or in person too. There are plenty of things to do throughout February and March with the last event taking place on 28th March at Annan Harbour with Sea, Saltmarsh and Migratory Fish and understanding the importance of the saltmarsh along the Solway coast.
Visit SCAMP's website for the full programme.
The programme is being delivered by partners: Galloway Fisheries Trust, D&G Woodlands, AHAG (Annan Harbour Action Group), DAMP (Dumfries Archival Mapping Project) and Solway Firth Partnership for sharing their incredible knowledge and skills for our Wild Winter
Programme of events and training opportunities.
SCAMP is an initiative by the D&G Council’s Environment Team supported by NatureScot in collaboration with the Scottish Government and in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
