Workshop 4.30pm - 6.30pm
Performance 7.30pm

You can attend either the workshop, the show or both! Book a combined ticket and take part in an uplifting singing workshop with the opportunity to share what you have learned during the evening performance!

The Show

A unique celebration of song, inspired by the two bards - William Shakespeare and Robert Burns, and performed by Jessa Liversidge. Sit back and enjoy Jessa’s heartfelt performances, from folk to pop and musical theatre, including her skilful use of a loop pedal to layer melodies and sounds. You then get the opportunity to contribute to a new piece using the words of these two inspiring writers and different ideas each show!

"Stunning voice, effortless acoustic style. Skilful use of a loop pedal to create harmony." The Singing Elf
"Haunting and beautiful - the Queen of the loop!" Debbie Warren
"You completely captivate the room seemingly effortlessly - your voice is just magical and the songs and stories really come alive when you sing." Audience member, Durham Fringe 2023

The Workshop

Jessa is an encouraging and engaging singing leader, skilled in working with singers of all ages and abilities, and with over 20 years' experience of leading singing with choirs and groups, from individuals to massed big sings. She received a 'highly commended' in the 'Together' category of the 2022 BBC Radio York Make a difference awards for bringing people together through song, and was a finalist in 2 categories of the 2021 Music teacher award for her work online and outside during the pandemic.

During the workshop, singers will work on vocal technique and work on creating harmony using some of the material from the show- music inspired by Shakespeare or Burns. The songs will be varied, for example they could include a folk song, a musical theatre song, and a new sing developed on the day! All to be confirmed when Jessa hears the voices in the room - but be assured that all voices will be welcomed and encouraged.

It is hoped that workshop participants will return and watch the evening performance, where there will be an opportunity to share what they have learned in the afternoon. Those participants should buy a combined workshop/performance ticket.

Anyone wishing just to take part in the workshop can do so, and should just buy a workshop only ticket.
