Shortbread Festival

Celebrate all things shortbread at the Gretna Green Shortbread Festival!

Spend a full day enjoying this free, family-friendly event as talented bakers from across region compete for the title of Best Shortbread Baker. Bring your own homemade shortbread to enter the competition or simply come along to watch the judging and join in the fun. Alongside the bake-off, enjoy a full day of entertainment:

• Live Scottish music
• Children’s activities
• Shortbread-themed desserts at our Runaways Café
• Whisky tastings from local suppliers
• Photo opportunity with our “Shortbread in a Kilt” pop-up

If you’re a baker, you can enter one of our three categories for free:
10:00 pm – 12:00 pm, Young Bakers (7-11 years old)
12:30 pm – 2:30 pm, Home Bakers
3:00 pm – 4:30 pm, Local Bakeries
