Stagehall Farm, Gary Anderson
Originally from Edinburgh, Gary Anderson now lives in Stow in the Scottish Borders. This new exhibition features paintings and drawings, mainly in oils, gouache and charcoal.

Gary’s work ranges from abstract landscapes in a geometric or loose style, to observational compositions and also imagined landscapes, created from the experience of being in a particular time and place. Sometimes painterly in style, and other times more linear and cubist, the work often focuses on certain elements in the land to which the artist is drawn – industry, architecture, community and social history.

Gary says:- ‘The opportunity to exhibit a selection of work at Hawick Museum alongside the touring William Gillies exhibition is hugely exciting, offering the scope to produce a range of work dedicated to the surrounding landscape and Border towns which he so much admired and explored, and which I also have an affinity for.’
