Free Burns Walking Tour

Explore the legacy of Scotland’s national bard with a free guided walking tour through historic Dumfries. Taking place every Saturday from the 12th of July to the 30th August, these engaging tours start at 6:00pm at the fountain in the town centre (near Boots) and lasts approximately 1.5 hours.

Led by a knowledgeable guide, the tour visits key Burns-related locations in Dumfries, including places where Robert Burns lived, worked, and socialised during his final years. The walk concludes at the Burns Mausoleum, where the poet is laid to rest.

There’s no need to book – simply turn up and join in.

Please wear sensible clothing and footwear, as the tour involves walking through various parts of the town.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is a perfect way to connect with Dumfries’ rich cultural history and celebrate the life and work of Robert Burns.
