Borders Abbeys Way

Kelso to Jedburgh

Walking Route

This is one of five sections of the Borders Abbeys Way and is a fairly flat and reasonably easy route, largely beside the River Teviot.


Melrose to Kelso

Walking Route

This is one of five sections of the Borders Abbeys Way and consists of country lanes, riverside paths, arable farmland, and scenic views.

Towns along route: Newstead, Bowden, Jedburgh

Selkirk to Melrose

Walking Route

This is one of five sections of the Borders Abbeys Way and climbs out of Selkirk to cross Selkirk Hill, which is a haven for wildlife and flowers.

Towns along route: Galashiels, Melrose

Hawick to Selkirk

Walking Route

This is one of five sections of the Borders Abbey Way and starts with a long, steady climb out of Hawick and Teviotdale onto the side of Drinkstone Hill and into typical Border hill farming countryside, and some forestry.

Jedburgh to Hawick

Walking Route

This is one of five sections of the Borders Abbeys Way and is a varied route, with a fairly steady climb from Jedburgh town centre and later a steep section up the side of Merlin Wood onto the side of Black Law.
