About Rosslyn Castle

Originally built by the St Clair family in 1304 after the Battle of Roslin, the castle has seen additions to the building over the centuries. It is believed that the current castle replaced an earlier one. Although the castle is now partially ruined, the category A listed building can be rented as holiday accommodation through a partnership between Rosslyn Chapel Trust and the Landmark Trust.

The St Clair family also built Rosslyn Chapel (see separate entry).

The Castle is a short walk away from the Chapel (driving there not recommended unless staying as a guest)
