About Dalkeith Museum

The Dalkeith Museum is located at the rear of the Dalkeith Corn Exchange and is run by Dalkeith History Society and a team of local volunteers.
Over the years the History Society has built up a fascinating collection of artefacts reflecting the history and heritage of the area. This collection is now exhibited under a number of local themes including: industry, society, agriculture, domestic life and leisure, crime, transport, politics and architecture. Themed temporary exhibitions are also staged at intervals throughout the year.
Schools and Community groups are actively encouraged to visit and handling boxes and with artefacts can be borrowed for projects and presentations.
The Museum is normally open Tuesday - Friday and on the 1st Saturday of each month. Hours may vary - please check.
