Worn

23rd September 2022

Every effort has been made to verify the accuracy of the event information but we recommend contacting the event organisers before attending.

Choreographed and performed by Scotland’s leading contemporary dance duo Errol White and Davina Givan, Worn is Inspired by the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold and silver and the cracks, rather than being hidden away, form a beautiful, visible and integral part of the object.

Celebrating those cracks and scar tissue, this emotive dance production explores how the body is affected by time and space, and the experiences, marks and lines that become such important parts of people’s personal histories.

In this Instagram age of polished perfection, it asks relevant questions about the acceptance of transience and physical imperfection – doing so in a way that is both dynamic and tender.

Worn had its World Premiere at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe and is now embarking on a Scottish tour, with the Eastgate it’s only stop in the Borders.
