Explore and enjoy Scotland’s past, present, and future through geology from 1st September- 9th October. Three events take place in the Borders, celebrating James Hutton's discovery at Siccar Point on the Berwickshire Coast. In addition from the 1st of September to the 9th October there's a programme of activities across the country, showcasing and celebrating Scotland’s incredible geology.

2 September - Hutton’s Coast – the journey to Siccar Point: It is Scotland’s most important geological site, but Siccar Point is tucked away on the rugged coastline of the Scottish Borders, a hidden gem with beautiful coastal scenery and a rich geological story. Walking tour starts Siccar Point Car Park, Cockburnspth.

11 September - Geology & Wildlife Cruise to Siccar Point: Travel back in time on this 3-hour cruise along the Berwickshire Coast from Eyemouth, past St Abb’s Head, to Siccar Point and back. There will be a geological and a wildlife guide on board to tell you all about the geology, wildlife and local history that we encounter on the journey. Cruise from RNLI Eyemouth Lifeboat Station.

18 September - Geology & Wildlife Cruise to Lamberton Skerrs & Marshall Meadows: Travel back in time on this 3-hour cruise along the Berwickshire Coast from Eyemouth, past Burnmouth Caves to Lamberton Skerrs & Marshall Meadows and back. There will be a geological and a wildlife guide on board to tell you all about the geology, wildlife and local history that we encounter on the journey. Cruise from RNLI Eyemouth Lifeboat Station
