Many of our favourite local haunts – restaurants, pubs, and shops alike – are adapting their services to serve the local community while implementing social distancing guidelines. In these uncertain times, it’s crucial to support them, and, for many of us, food from our favourites never fails to lift spirits.

From takeaway offers to frozen ready meal delivery, we have put together a list of businesses across Midlothian and the Borders that make sure their local communities continue to be supported – why not show them some love and place an order?

Please be aware that due to the ever-evolving situation around COVID-19, information and availability may change. Please check our advice page for up to date information.

Pre-ordering is essential, and spaces may be limited. Adhere to Government guidelines and do not leave your area. The information below was correct at time of publishing – 26 March 2020. The post was updated on 19 June 2020 to add further restaurants.

Our advice doesn’t just apply to Midlothian and the Borders though: At this time, there are struggling local businesses around the world that need support. Share their offer, recommend them to friends and let them know that you’re thinking of them; ready to visit once the situation has improved.

Postpone, don’t cancel

Do you already have a booking and now need to revisit your plans? Many businesses offer free rebookings or even discounts for later in the year. If you have the flexibility, check your options before cancelling.
